Now
a day’s Colored diamonds are most popular jewelry. The fashion for
wearing colored diamond are recent trend. It is just started a few days ago
when the celebrity red carpet like Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham used
pink diamond on their engagement. Where the celebrities go, everybody follow
them. These type of colored diamonds do not have celebrities’ price tags. But
this does not mean they are fake.
It
is believed that diamonds were created two or three billion years ago. It is
happened when the carbon found in earth’s surface. By replacing the elements of
carbon molecules make the diamond colorful. The heat and pressure are also
given for creating the diamond crystal.
The
color formation of all diamonds are not same. All the colors are not created
naturally. The process of creating colorful diamonds is not easy.
The irradiation treatment is also used for creating colored diamond. It
also happens naturally. For creating this, gamma rays, neutrons, electrons,
knocking carbon atoms are bombarded by the diamonds. This also creates blue or
green color. In this process, all the diamonds become bluish-green and black
color. It does not create other colors. After irradiation treatment, it is also
given heat and pressure to create another color like brown, yellow, orange and
pink. Annealed is another way of creating fancy color diamonds. It also provide
high temperature and high pressure.

I am going to describe about the different colored diamonds.
Green
Diamond
Green
diamonds are created from radiation. It is also rare. There are many reason for
a diamond to be green. Radioactive rocks emitting radiation color formed
diamonds to green.
Violet
and Purple
The
violet color diamonds are created from hydrogen impurities. It is also happened
for excessive heat and pressure. There is a difference between violet and
purple color. The two color nearly same but the violet is more dark than
purple. It also comes from different hues.
Deep
Red
Among
the color diamonds, the deep red is the rarest diamond. It is so much expensive
because of its rarity. The deep red created eons that is exerted from its
pressure. The process is needed high pressure.
Pink
Diamond
There
are many reason for a diamond to be pink. It is little bit scientific. A
diamond have many component. The primary component is carbon and less other
component are present. For making the diamond pink, at first the carbon and
other component are crystallized by pressure then heat. After doing some
complex process, it becomes pink.
A
pink diamond is only the reflection of pink hue. It is not made from the
elements of the periodic table. Some gemologist give a theory that the
evaluation of Argyle Diamond make pink diamond.
